Minister Blair Lekstrom, Minister Shirley Bond and Councillor Don Zurowski break ground in Prince George.
Prince George is celebrating the start of construction of the Heritage River Trail and Highway 16 Trail connectors, which will help to create a greener and healthier community.
When the project is finished later this year, there will be two trail connectors linking up a larger path system. The Highway 16 Trail Connector will be a 585-metre-long multi-use asphalt trail to connect existing and proposed paths on Ferry Avenue and Highway 97N/Highway 16.
The other part of the project includes a 740-metre-long asphalt trail to connect the existing trail system in Carrie Jane Gray Park to the adjacent residential neighbourhood. It will also provide better connections to a trail network at Fort George Park as well as a running/cycling trail along the Fraser and Nechako Rivers.
