Port Mody-Westwood MLA Iain Black and Port Moody Mayor Joe Trasolini hold the 4350,000 LocalMotion cheque from Province at the April 2007 announcement.
A new off-road route facility along the Westhill Greenway will create a connection between existing on-road and off-road cycling routes.
The new 1.6-km multi-lane facility will connect the neighbourhoods of Glenayre, College Park and Seaview to the Trans-Canada Trail.
The Provincial contribution to this project is $350,000.
Port Moody is one of 26 communities across British Columbia that are receiving $18.9 million in the first round of the Province's LocalMotion program, to build bicycle paths, trails and walkways, support community playgrounds and improve accessibility for people with disabilities.
