LocalMotion provides $40 million, over four years, for capital projects that reduce community greenhouse gas emissions, improve accessibility for seniors and people with disabilities, and support community actions to advance the ActNow BC principle of being more physically active.

Under the cost-share program, the Province will provide local governments with up to 50 per cent funding for approved projects.

During program's first round of funding, $18.9 million was distributed in April 2007.
